Description
This Bizen kiln-change vase is by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. The piece is captivating for its powerful yet gentle form, which retains the rich, supple texture of the clay. The deep gray ash glaze, which almost seems as though it would deform if pinched, will beautifully accentuate the colors of any flowers placed within. The magnificent scarlet hue is a crystallization of the diligent effort Koriki puts into both clay preparation and his ceaseless research into kiln firing.
