Description

This beer mug is the work of Masao Akiya, a potter who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works full of unique originality infused with a fresh spirit. The piece features a distinct, creative form characteristic of Masao Akiya, beautifully complemented by a novel black slip. The yellow of the sesame-like ash glaze (kigoma) creates a striking contrast with the black, adding wonderful definition to the aesthetic. The marks left by the seashells placed during firing, known as "kaia-to" (shell marks), create an intriguing visual effect that is another highlight of this piece. We offer free gift wrapping and message cards, so please do not hesitate to ask. Signed wooden box (double-crosspiece lid)
Diameter 8.5cm × 7.8cm × Height 12.1cm
