Description

This is a Hidasuki sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superb aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. It features a profound Hidasuki pattern achieved through thorough reduction firing, where vermilion Hidasuki markings harmonize with a grayish clay body with a slight blue tint. The gray surface, crafted from carefully selected clay, is accented by black stone inclusions, creating a truly moving landscape. This piece retains the "primordial quality of the clay," a theme currently central to Morimoto’s work, allowing you to enjoy the raw character of the earth as it changes and develops a patina through use. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
