Description
This Bizen flower vase is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, who carries on the tradition of his grandfather, the legendary sake ware master Rokuro Nakamura, and his father, Makoto Nakamura, to create pieces of profound character. The vase captures the rising flames as if they were a direct imprint on the work. The soft, scarlet-hued clay body seems as though it would possess a wonderful charm when used after being slightly moistened. Bizen ware has long been renowned for its ability to keep water from spoiling, and seeing how the clay retains such a vibrant color despite being buried in intense flames, one can easily understand why. As a kin of the earth, this piece will surely bring out the beauty of any flowers it holds.
