Description
This Bizen plate is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, who follows in the tradition of master potters Rokuro and Makoto Nakamura, creating works of deep aesthetic appeal. The kiln-altered glaze is magnificent, creating the illusion that the scorching summer sun has been captured and burned onto the surface like film. The gentle, rounded form created by hand-beating the clay conveys the characteristic warmth of earthenware. Even the underside is beautifully dyed in a brilliant scarlet, promising to develop even more character as it is used over time.
Original wooden box (with two-sided slats)
