Description
This is a Hi-dasuki (fire-cord) yunomi by Tomio Ochi, who diligently worked under Yasuhito Abe, pouring his still-unsated aspirations into his pottery. Based on hand-forming techniques, it features a relaxed, gentle form that, combined with its soft texture, makes for a truly soothing piece. Fired at higher temperatures rarely seen elsewhere, it embodies Ochi-sensei’s meticulous attention to detail, extending even to the flow of the clay particles. The rich Hi-dasuki markings create a simple yet striking landscape, making it perfect for daily use. (*Please note that due to the hand-forming process, there is slight wobbling.)
