Description
This Bizen sake bottle is the work of Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the rigorous path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. Using the same Ibe clay as his father, the piece features an earthy tone with a slight orange tint and a distinctive dry, crusty ash glaze (kase-goma). Despite the somewhat coarse texture of the clay, it is remarkably smooth and pleasant to the touch, reflecting the masterful craftsmanship and meticulous care characteristic of the Kaneshige lineage. The unadorned form, infused with delicate techniques throughout, exudes a sense of grandeur and innate elegance.
