Description

This is a new Bizen sake carafe (tokkuri) by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who follows in the tradition of masters Rokuro and Shin Nakamura to create works with profound character. While retaining the delightful "hi-iro" (scarlet) flame markings, this impressive piece is also generously coated in a natural wood-ash glaze. The central section features a soft, pinkish scarlet hue, making it perfect for catching any stray drops while pouring. Its elegant, wide-shouldered turnip shape is gracefully and naturally formed, exuding a wonderful sense of ease. Original signed wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping).
Rim diameter 3.5cm × Body diameter 10.2×10.2cm × Height 12.2cm. Capacity approx. 450cc. Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he honed his ceramic skills under the tutelage of his grandfather and father. He fired his first kiln and established his own studio in 2006.
