Description

This new Bizen gourd-shaped sake flask is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who inherits the legacy of master sake ware potters Rokuro and Shin Nakamura to create works of profound character. Its gourd form possesses a magnificent presence that reflects the seasoned techniques of a veteran craftsman. Highly practical as well, the neck is designed for a comfortable grip, and much like the evolving nature of the firing itself, it is packed with the joy of use typical of traditional Japanese crafts. It can also be enjoyed as a decorative piece by hanging it on a wall or using it as a single-flower vase. Signed wooden box (double-crosspiece)
Rim 3.1cm × Body 10.9cm × 10.7cm × Height 13.0cm; Capacity approx. 380cc Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
