Description

This small plate series is by Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with his own originality within a fresh sensibility. It is a delight to have a piece that is affordable, easy to use, and conveniently sized at around 15 cm, making it easy to store without being too wide or tall. Other charms include the kiln transformation (yohen) characteristic of an anagama kiln, the black tones that reveal his meticulous attention to detail, and a diverse range of firing effects. When used, these pieces serve as excellent supporting players in the true style of Bizen ware, highlighting the food, sweets, or fruit they hold. (*Please note in advance that due to the intense flames, the shape is slightly distorted as shown in the images, which may cause some instability.) Paper box
