Description
This small plate series is by Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works full of his own unique originality within a new aesthetic spirit. These pieces are delightful, easy to use, and conveniently sized at around 15 cm, making them easy to store without being too wide or tall. They are also attractive for their diverse firing techniques, including the kiln transformation characteristic of wood-fired kilns and a black finish that reflects his meticulous attention to detail. When in use, they serve as the perfect supporting role typical of Bizen ware, highlighting the food, sweets, or fruit they hold.
