Description

This is a new Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates profound and tasteful works following in the footsteps of the master sake vessel makers Rokuro and Shin Nakamura. The piece features a mouse-gray surface with a hint of sangiri, accented by a truly magnificent, vibrant red firing mark. It is a shade you will never forget, as if the piece is competing with the kiln’s flames in the intensity of its red hue. The interior also features an astringent, reddish clay texture, resulting in a perfectly balanced composition. Signed wooden box (double-braced lid)
Diameter 7.5cm × Diameter 7.4cm × Height 5.0cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
