Description
This is a new Bizen rice bowl by Tsuyoshi Kaneshige, marking a new stage in his career following the completion of his anagama kiln in Kukui. Reminiscent of yamajawan (mountain tea bowls), this piece is stack-fired and features a rather soft, rich scarlet clay body. Its simple and quiet form would also make an intriguing small chawan for whisking matcha. Due to the softness of the clay, the color is expected to evolve significantly the more it is used.
