This Oribe beer mug is the work of Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with unique originality within a fresh spirit. This is his first attempt at Oribe using Shigaraki clay, and the refreshing, cool tone of the glaze is truly wonderful. The form, which reflects the meticulous attention to detail characteristic of the Isezaki school, incorporates graceful curves and subtle cuts into its streamlined shape, making it simple yet timeless. It comes in a paulownia wood box, making it perfect as a gift or keepsake. (We can provide washi gift wrapping or paper bags, so please feel free to request them on the order screen.)
