Description

This is a new Bizen sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an excellent aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his use of clay, firing techniques, and craftsmanship. While it has a silhouette reminiscent of a tea bowl when viewed from the front, it possesses the gentle, rounded form of a Raku-style piece when seen from various angles. Despite its meticulous construction, the form remains bold and unpretentious. The rich character of the clay combines with powerful yellow "goma" (sesame glaze) to create a piece with exceptionally beautiful scenery.
