Description

This is a new Ibe sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superior aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his work with clay, firing, and craftsmanship. The piece combines a refined, characteristic Morimoto cup form with dynamic "goma" (sesame) ash glaze. The interior features a slightly soft, translucent quality not seen in his previous works, which, along with a faint "hidasuki" (fire-cord) marking, creates a unique landscape. The "kaise-yaki" (covered-firing) style foot showcases a rich, viscous hidasuki, allowing one to appreciate even the corners of the base in detail. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
