Description
This Ibe sake cup is the work of Tomio Ochi, who diligently worked the kiln under the tutelage of Yasuhito Abe and continues to pour his unfulfilled aspirations into his ceramics. The piece is coated with iron-rich clay and fired at a higher temperature than usual, resulting in a rich, viscous black tone. A dark, charred brown overlaps with black, further intermingled with well-melted yellow sesame glaze to create a profound landscape. The surface, layered with a variety of colors, takes on an even more beautiful expression when wet, providing enjoyment to its owner.
