Description
This Bizen tea cup is by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Kōriki, a former apprentice of the master Sozan Kaneshige. Fired by being placed in an airflow channel, its bold scarlet hue is truly eye-catching. The piece is made from a blend of rice-field clay and mountain clay, perfected through years of research, resulting in a beautiful earthy texture that is also incredibly pleasing to the touch. The foot, carved with the artist’s signature one-and-a-half-turn technique, is dynamic and impressive, lending a sense of profound artistry to the tea cup. With its bold design that feels larger than the palm, it is versatile enough to be used for shochu or beer, depending on your preference.
