Description
This is a superb Bizen yohen sake cup, fresh from the kiln by popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. Specially acquired, this exhibition-grade masterpiece showcases a magnificent scarlet hue, a synergy of dedicated clay research and meticulous firing. Beyond the intense scarlet and heavy ash covering, the shaded areas feature a rich, viscous shiso (perilla) color, offering a depth that goes beyond a purely rustic aesthetic. Its egg-shaped form and slightly tall foot are perfectly balanced.
