Description
This is a new Hidasuki gourd-shaped tokkuri (sake bottle) by Megumi Sueda, a female ceramic artist who studied under Yasuhito Abe and captivates fans with her unique works. The vivid Hidasuki patterns, a specialty of Sueda, look as if red vines are wrapped around the surface. It features a masterful intersection of thin, sharp lines—noted as being extremely difficult to achieve—and rich, bold lines that remain perfectly distinct. The dynamic form, utilizing the three-point expansion technique common to the works of her mentor Yasuhito Abe, is also a sight to behold.
