Description
This Bizen sake cup is by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice of the master Sozan Kaneshige. It is a piece that unites soft ash-glazing caused by the *korogashi* (rolling) kiln effect with creamy orange *nuke* (exposed areas). The kiln-altered surface, which glows with a faint, dull luster, has a smooth and pleasant texture, finished to delight the eyes, tongue, and fingers of its owner. Its somewhat large and energetic style is enough to invigorate anyone who looks at it.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
