Description
This Bizen coffee set features the latest pieces fresh from the kiln by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality within a fresh aesthetic. It is a highly stylish coffee set that fuses a sophisticated design with the refined firing of an anagama (tunnel kiln). By using a spatula to shave the clay as if tanning it after wheel-throwing, the stone particles within the clay are shifted, creating a coarse, wild expression within a simple form. The flat-finished saucers feature a circular indentation carved into the center, achieving both design and functionality.
