Description
This Bizen coffee set features the latest works fresh from the kiln by Masao Akitani, an artist who apprenticed under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with unique originality within a fresh spirit. It is a highly stylish coffee set that fuses a sophisticated design with the refined firing of an anagama kiln. After throwing on the potter's wheel, the piece is shaved with a spatula as if tanning, causing the stone particles within the clay to shift and creating a rugged, wild expression within the simple form. The flat saucer features a circular depression carved into the center, achieving both design and functionality.
