Description
This Bizen coffee set is the latest kiln-opening creation from Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with his own unique originality within a new spirit. It is a very stylish coffee set that fuses a sophisticated design with the refined firing of an anagama kiln. By scraping the clay with a spatula as if tanning it after wheel-throwing, the stone particles within the clay are shifted, creating a rugged, wild expression within a simple structure. The flat-plate saucer has its center carved out in a circular shape, achieving both design and functionality.
