Description
This is the latest black coffee set from the kiln of Masao Akiya, a ceramicist who apprenticed under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with his own unique originality within a fresh spirit. It is a highly stylish coffee set that blends a sophisticated design with the chic presence of black. By shaving the clay with a spatula as if tanning it after wheel-forming, the stone particles embedded in the clay are moved, creating a rugged, wild expression within a simple form. The flat saucer features a circular depression carved into the center, achieving both design and functionality.
