Description
This black coffee set is the latest kiln-fired work by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality amidst a fresh spirit. It is a highly stylish coffee set that blends a sophisticated design with a chic black presence. By shaving the surface with a spatula like tanning after the piece is wheel-thrown, the grains of stone contained in the clay are moved, creating a rugged and wild expression within the simple form. The flat saucer features a circular depression shaved into the center, achieving both design and functionality.
