Description

This is a latest black sake cup fresh from the kiln by Masao Akitani, a potter who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works full of unique originality infused with a fresh spirit. It is a resized version of the various sake cup designs developed by Mr. Akitani, adapted for use as a beer or shochu glass. The avant-garde design suits the large form perfectly, and matches exceptionally well with the chic, deeply lustrous black firing. The design, color, and firing are brilliantly unified under a single theme, resulting in a work typical of the Isezaki school that would even suit contemporary architecture.
