Description
This is a flower vase by Kosei Kibata, who made his long-awaited debut after nine years of training as a disciple of Jun Isezaki. It is a simple yet unique piece that embodies the primitive art that Kibata strives for. In the process of turning a "kinuta" (fulling block)—a motif from everyday life—into a flower vase, he engaged in trial and error to arrive at a form that he himself would want to arrange flowers in. The piece is generously coated in ash, and the intense scenery perfectly complements its simple structure.
