Description

This Bizen teacup is the work of Yukio Tomori, who began his journey in ceramics in Okinawa before studying under Taisetsu Sueishi in Bizen. Reflecting his desire to capture the "most beautiful moment" in clay that is constantly shifting on the potter's wheel, his work appears as if the lively clay has been fired in its dynamic state. The pieces seem to dance with joy, feeling as though they might continue to expand if touched, and they bring a sense of delight to the observer as well. The deeply undulating surface is very comfortable to hold, offering a profound sense of reassurance when cradled in both hands.
