Description

This is a Bizen sake cup by Yukio Tomori, who began his pottery journey in Okinawa and later studied under Taisetsu Sueishi in Bizen. Driven by the desire to capture the "most beautiful moment" of the clay as it constantly shifts on the potter's wheel, his style makes the clay appear as though it were fired mid-motion. The cup features large, spiral-shaped throwing marks that give it the vigor and atmosphere of a drill. It displays *kase-goma* (crusty ash) and a beautiful scarlet *hi-iro* (fire color), promising an exceptional experience as it is used and ages.
