Description

This is a new Bizen sake carafe by Kazuki Nakamura, a creator of profound works who follows in the tradition of the master sake vessel craftsmen Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura. The piece features an exquisite contrast between shiso-colored and scarlet hues, allowing one to enjoy the characteristic kiln transformations of the Nakamura family, even in its understated elegance. The solid, broad-shouldered form offers great stability, and it would also be interesting to use it as a bottle by sealing it with a cork. As it is used, the surface will gradually become smoother and the colors will continue to evolve. (Please note that there are some adhesions and stone explosions on the base, but these do not affect its use.) Signed wooden box (lid with two-way bracing)
Rim 3.8cm × Body diameter 10.3cm × 10.3cm × Height 13.1cm, Capacity approx. 520cc Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his ceramic skills. He fired his first kiln and became independent in 2006.
