Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding joy in life through creating works and firing kilns. A highlight of this piece is the magnificent kiln transformation, featuring generous amounts of "goma" (ash glaze) layered over a well-fired, lustrous black surface. It is a perfect, versatile size—neither too small nor too large—making it an ideal gift that is sure to please anyone. The design is brimming with the originality characteristic of Mr. Baba, such as the uniquely carved, meandering foot rim.
