Description
This black rice bowl is the latest work fresh from the kiln by Masao Akiya, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with original flair within a fresh, modern aesthetic. The combination of a simple bowl silhouette and a chic black finish creates a very stylish and contemporary piece. Each bowl is coated with black slip by hand, resulting in a unique coloration for every single piece. Thin, lightweight, and perfectly sized, this rice bowl fully demonstrates Master Akiya's exceptional technical skill. Since the black tones vary with each piece, they make a wonderful and well-received gift as a set.
