Description
This is a new black Bizen beer mug by Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. The piece features a simple, cylindrical form with a subtly conscious potter's wheel texture, finished with a black slip to create a chic appearance. Designed with a focus on ease of use and enjoyment, Mr. Baba has incorporated clever touches: the wheel marks provide a good grip for the fingers, and the slightly flared rim makes it easy to drink from while showcasing the beer foam beautifully. Each piece exhibits a rich variety of black kiln-transmutation effects, offering a range of nuances such as faint cobalt blue hues or purplish shades created by the depth of the black glaze.
