Description
This is a new marbled tea cup by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds joy in crafting pieces and firing kilns. The inverted triangular form with its flared rim combined with the marbled pattern devised by Mr. Baba creates a unique atmosphere reminiscent of ancient earthenware. The intricate pattern, which is hard to believe was carved freehand, is deeply etched all the way down to the base, speaking to the high level of Mr. Baba's design prowess. The exterior is covered in ash deposits and sesame glaze, while the interior contrasts this by exposing the raw clay, creating a distinct and sharp aesthetic that perfectly suits the innovative design.
