Description

This is a new mug by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in crafting works and firing kilns. Despite its thin-walled construction, it is fired hard and solid, producing a clear, resonant sound when tapped that speaks to its high-temperature firing. Mr. Baba paid special attention to the handle, designing it to provide a firm, secure grip that is exceptionally comfortable to hold. The design on the surface of the mug is also remarkably elaborate; the slip-decorated surface resembles a sand dune, making it feel as if you are gazing at swirling dust while you hold it. It is a magnificent mug that is truly one-of-a-kind in both design and functionality.
