Description

This new Hidasuki bowl is by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. The piece was designed with daily usability as the primary focus, striving for extreme lightness while keeping the design understated. It is remarkably thin and light, making it a great recommendation even for those who prefer lighter tableware, yet the firing is characteristic of Bizen, featuring a well-fired Hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern. The dark brown clay tone graduates into a reddish-brown, with a rich, expressive Hidasuki pattern appearing in the white central area. As shown in the photo, it can be used for anything, including salads, pasta and other noodles, or fruit.
