Description
This is a new black Bizen beer mug by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds joy in creating works and firing kilns. The piece features a simple cylindrical form with subtle wheel marks and is finished with a black slip, giving it a chic appearance. Designed with the theme of creating functional and enjoyable vessels, Baba has incorporated clever details: the wheel marks provide a good grip for the fingers, and the slightly flared rim makes it easy to drink from while allowing the foam to be displayed beautifully. Each piece exhibits a rich variety of black kiln-transmutation effects, with some showing faint cobalt blue highlights or shades of purple created by the depth of the black glaze, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of variations.
