Description
This is a new Ibe sake cup by Iwao Kaneshige, who was born and raised in the prestigious Kaneshige family and continues to diligently refine his craft in the kiln used by his predecessors, the great Toyo Kaneshige and Michiaki Kaneshige. The simple composition, relying solely on the qualities of the clay, is a hallmark of Iwao-sensei’s style, born from his deep trust in Bizen clay. The clay itself, with its deep, subtly orange-tinted character, is exceptionally fine-grained and promises to be a joy to use over time. This stoic, minimalist aesthetic ensures that one will never tire of this piece, making it a companion for a lifetime.
Signed wooden box (double-braced lid)
