Description
This Bizen sake flask is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, a master artisan who carries on the tradition of his father, Rokuro Nakamura, and grandfather, Shin Nakamura, in creating pieces of profound depth and character. The piece features a soil texture showcasing the signature scarlet "hidasuki" markings for which the Nakamura family is renowned, beautifully complemented by scorched and yellow "goma" (ash glaze) patterns. The scarlet hue, which appears as if lit from within, embodies the mysterious and subtle beauty unique to unglazed, high-fired ceramics. Running one's fingers over the surface reveals a fine, tactile texture; it is truly exciting to imagine how this earthy quality will evolve into a softer finish as it is polished by the sake poured from it over time.
