Description

This black Bizen deep bowl is by Kazuhiro Mori, an artist who follows in the footsteps of his father, to whom he has dedicated his life to large-kiln firing, and who himself aspires to recreate the powerful beauty of ancient Bizen through this same technique. The combination of fine-particle sesame ash from a 20-meter kiln firing and a black slip creates a remarkably matte texture that appears almost coated. The modern design, tailored for a chic atmosphere, perfectly showcases the refined sensibility of Mori, who studied glass craft. This is an exemplary piece of tableware; its deep black color enhances the appearance of the food it holds, transforming the ambiance of the dining table while remaining a modest supporting player.
