Description
This is a Hidasuki yunomi (tea cup) by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the demanding path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. Characterized by a warm-toned Hidasuki pattern, this piece uses the same coarse clay with a high sand content favored by his father. The bold, rich Hidasuki lines conceal even deeper, more intense strokes—a landscape that is sure to delight any fan of the Hidasuki style. The rounded, well-defined body fits perfectly in the palm, and the coarse, sandy texture of the surface makes it exceptionally pleasant to hold.
