Description

This is a black square dish by Masao Akiya, a potter who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality within a modern aesthetic. While it is a relatively orthodox square dish, the addition of two-directional line patterns transforms its impression as if by magic. The evenly spaced lines seem to skillfully control the reflection of light and the flow of one's gaze when viewing the piece. The stylish black slip is also magnificent, and the combination of black with orange and scarlet highlights makes it suitable for use as a decorative plate. Paper box
