Description
This is a new Bizen ware sake cup by Ms. Megumi Sueda, a female artist who studied under Yasuhito Abe and captivates fans with her unique creations. In addition to the signature Sueda-style form, which resembles a flower beginning to bloom, it is generously covered in rich, yellow goma (wood ash glaze) that gives it the appearance of a golden flower. The contrast between the deep, near-black shiso-color and the remarkably vibrant yellow is magnificent. Inside the cup, the scenery features scattered-goma, where one can observe how the fine particles of ash have gradually accumulated, allowing the drinker to enjoy their sake while reflecting on the kiln-firing process.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
