Description

This is a black sake cup by Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works overflowing with his own unique originality within a new spirit. The distinctive design, which looks as if rails have been laid across the surface of the vessel, catches the eye. In harmony with the novel form, the vigorously applied sesame glaze reacts with the black clay, turning light blue in places. The deep interior features an even split of black and yellow sesame glaze, creating a mysterious landscape that feels as though it would draw you in if you were to peer inside. Signed wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping)
