Description
This is a new Ido-style sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Reflecting Morimoto-sensei’s deep passion for the great masterpieces of Ido ware, this latest work possesses a powerful presence as if it had aged for many years. From the adjustment of the glaze to the beauty of the three-tiered expansion of the body, one can sense that not a single moment of focus was spared in its creation. The piece itself is designed to readily absorb sake, and the way it evolves—including its crazing and the character of its surface—is one of its true joys. (Due to the nature of the work, please note that it cannot hold sake for extended periods.)
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipment).
