Description

This is a new black cup by Masao Akitani, an artist who apprenticed under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates work overflowing with unique originality within a fresh aesthetic. The lustrous black surface is stylish and chic. During the previous kiln firing, the black slip surface was well-received for how beautifully it highlights the colors of café au lait and coffee with milk. The surface has been finely scraped with a spatula to add textural variation, showcasing the subtly refined touch that is characteristic of Akitani's work. Paper box
