Description

This is a black tea bowl by Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality amidst a new spirit. Its creatively designed, pleasantly rhythmic patterns draw the viewer in. The form, which converges into a triangular foot, resembles legs when viewed from the front, reflecting Akitani’s signature style. The natural glaze, which has fallen upon the piece like rain, shifts in expression between the surfaces with line patterns and those without, delighting the observer. Signed wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping).
