Description
This is a black cup by Masao Akiya, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with a unique originality within a modern spirit. Mr. Akiya’s strong dedication to the color black has paid off, resulting in a visually striking piece where a deep, glossy black fuses with a rich, sesamoid glaze effect. The design, which reflects Mr. Akiya’s studious nature, combines aesthetics with ease of use, ensuring the piece is as enjoyable to admire after finishing a drink as it is to hold. Named a "black cup," this piece is sized between a teacup and a beer glass, making it suitable for both shochu and beer. A paulownia wood box is included, making it an ideal gift.
