Description
This is a new Bizen hexagonal sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superb aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his work with clay, firing, and form. The hexagonal shape, the result of extensive research, is slightly softened, giving it a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. The surface displays an exquisite gradation from dark brown to ochre, beautifully capturing the chocolate-colored clay quality that the artist favors. By applying a different *itogoma* (thread-like sesame glaze) pattern to each of the six faces, he offers his unique "Morimoto-style" firing solution to the expression of these planes.
Signed wooden box to follow at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).
